How Our Cutoff Metrics & Ranks Are Calculated

To give you the most accurate and realistic admission picture, our cutoff metrics are processed using official MHT-CET allotment data with the following logic:

1. Final Allotment Selection (Latest Round)

We evaluate every candidate's final allotted seat across all CAP rounds. If an applicant was upgraded across rounds (e.g., from Round 1 to Round 3), only their latest seat allotment is counted so that upgraded seats are not counted twice.

2. General Merit Cutoff Ranks

General Merit Ranks represent the overall State Merit Numbers of candidates admitted under General/Open category seats:

  • Co-Education Colleges: Calculated using GOPENS, GOPENH, GOPENO, AI (All India) seat allotments.
  • Women-Only Colleges: Calculated using LOPENS, LOPENH, LOPENO, AI seat allotments.

Metrics Displayed:

  • Starting Rank: Best (lowest number) rank allotted to the branch.
  • Median Rank: The exact 50th percentile rank of admitted candidates (rounded to a whole rank).
  • Last Rank: Closing rank admitted to the branch.

3. JEE Main Cutoff Percentiles

  • All India Seats Only: JEE metrics are calculated exclusively from candidates who applied via the JEE Main exam and were allotted an AI (All India) seat.

Metrics Displayed:

  • Shows the Least, Median (50th percentile), and Best JEE percentile scores required for admission.

Rule How It Works in Practice
Round Upgrades If a student gets a seat in Round 1 and upgrades in Round 2, only the Round 2 seat is counted.
Co-Ed Open Seats Includes all general category seats, all-India seats at co-ed colleges.
Women Open Seats Includes all general ladies category seats, all-India seats at women-only colleges.
Median Rank Display Calculates the exact middle student and rounds to the nearest whole number rank.
JEE Percentiles Only includes students who applied through their JEE Main score and secured an All-India (AI) seat.
