Why we rank by Open Merit cutoffs

Open merit seats are filled purely by rank — no reservation filters applied. This makes them the cleanest benchmark for comparing colleges across Maharashtra.

Reserved category cutoffs vary by seat availability and conversion rounds, which creates noise in cross-college comparison. Open merit gives you a true "demand signal."

Belong to OBC/SC/ST/EWS? Your actual cutoff will generally be easier than what's shown here.

How to Actually Read These Rankings

Everything a Class 12 student needs to know before using this table to decide where to apply

Metric Explained

What is Median Rank & why it beats Last Rank

Imagine 100 students got into one college's CSE branch. Sort them from best MHT-CET rank to worst. The Median Rank is student #50 — right in the middle.

The "Last Rank" gets inflated by late-round seat conversions. A single cancellation can make a college look easier than it really is.

Rule of thumb: If your rank is equal to or better (lower number) than the Median Rank, you have a realistic shot.

Data Source

Why only Pure Open Merit (General Category)?

We strictly use Open Merit only:

GOPENS / GOPENH → Co-ed colleges
LOPENS / LOPENH → Women-only colleges

These seats are filled purely by rank — cleanest apples-to-apples comparison. Reserved category students typically have easier cutoffs.

Two Exams, One Process

MHT-CET vs JEE — what’s the difference here?

Maharashtra engineering colleges accept both MHT-CET and JEE through the same CAP process.

MHT-CET columns are the primary route for most Maharashtra students.

JEE columns hidden by default on desktop. On mobile, tap any row's expand button to see both sets of cutoffs.

💡 Quick tip: Sorted by MHT-CET Median Rank by default — most competitive colleges first. Tap any column header to re-sort. Use the search box to find a specific college instantly. On mobile, tap a row to expand all cutoffs.

About MHT CET ⚒️ Metallurgy & Materials College Rankings in Maharashtra

This page lists Maharashtra engineering colleges offering ⚒️ Metallurgy & Materials, ranked by MHT CET open merit median rank. Branch codes covered: 694. Colleges higher in the list admitted students with stronger MHT CET ranks, indicating higher demand for that branch at that college.

All rank and percentile data is sourced from official CAP allotment results published by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra. For the most authoritative information always verify with the official CET Cell website.

This data is for informational and decision-support purposes only and is updated as per official allotment records.

Median Rank — the better planning benchmark

The median rank is the middle value among all admitted students for a branch. It avoids being skewed by outliers at either end of the distribution.

  • Closing ranks can mislead. A single late-round vacancy conversion can push a closing rank far beyond what's typical.
  • Median shows the real competition level. It captures the 50th percentile of the admitted batch.
  • Better for planning. Aim to be near or better than the median, not just better than the last rank.
